In part 10, we get to see one of the greatest demon infestation movies of the 1980s. Nothing makes any sense about this damn movie. From the weird theater to the phantom of the opera guy handing out special screening tickets to hot Euro babes, this movie is all about the style that is substance, which is also blood and gore. Once all the people show up for the free show, the demons began possessing the patrons fasten than friends of Bruce Campbell's in a log cabin.
This is one set of segments were I learned something about the movie from JBB I didn't previously know. I knew that legendary Italian director Dario Argento had collaborated with Lamberto Bava. Lamberto is horror royalty, being the son of Black Sunday director Mario Bava. Lamberto had previously directed the film Macabre, which was based on the true story of a woman in New Orleans who kept her lover's head in her refrigerator. But what I didn't know is the movie was written and directed by a whole slew of Italian filmmakers, including Michele Soavi, who direct the 1993 zombie classic Cemetery Man.
I could say more about how badass JBB was with the host segments, but allow me to embed a YouTube clip of him explaining the convoluted franchise that follows:
Four Stars.
